How to Share Files Between Two Computers Via Wifi

Recently I had an 8GB disk image transfer from my laptop in the coffee shop to my main Ubuntu PC. Question: how?

My first instinct (like most people) was to find a very narrow USB drive. So I did. Although for some unknown reason, I always started copying the ISO document by proxy, which is worse, to drop every second speed!

The USB Studio (not recommended) came out and was turned on in my browser to provide a faster way of transferring images from PC to PC without disturbing the “media”.

Today I do things like Samba, communication network, local group and SSH file transfer. But I wanted something simple, without convoluted settings and something that I didn’t upload on the internet at first.

I wanted to share everything, and more on the LAN.

LAN Share is open source software to transfer files to the network

Transfer files to an application on a common Linux LAN

LAN Share is an open source client for C++ and Qt file transfer. It can used to send a file or folder from one computer to another, and a file or folder from other computers that run the application.

Even better, LAN Share is compatible with Windows and Ubuntu Linux, you can only use it:

Transfer files from Windows to Ubuntu

Files Transfer from Ubuntu to Windows

Transfer files from Windows to Windows

Transfer files from Ubuntu to Ubuntu

No third party servers, no cloud capabilities, no protocol agreements.

Install an application that you’d like to use for each computer, send tablets or folders, and choose your network from the list.

The only thing you need is that both accountants are on the same local network or on the same WiFi connection.

LAN Share benefits include:

Works directly from PC to PC

Allows files to sent between different operating systems

Has file size restrictions

Faster than spending on a cloud service like Dropbox

The reason I like writing this app is because of the simple and open interfaces.

The main window is divided into two parts, with the upper area dedicated to sending and receiving packages, and the lower “receiving” information of the areas that connect the development and metadata with the sending and receiving time frames.

In a limited time bubble, services are omitted and canceled so that they can safely performed. It is also possible to delete the complete questionnaire.

Settings button gives you access to the following options:

Define / change device names

Set/change ports

Set the file buffer size

Specify download folder

Extended functions are missing

If the downside is that this app lacks the familiar advanced features and security settings, but since I only use it at home, I’m fine.

Which is really good: Tables can exchanged between accountants for different tasks. Now I don’t need to transfer the data from Windows to USB stick and I am working from USB to Ubuntu on my computer. Can I activate the network?

These tools are especially useful if you don’t have a USB stick in your hands (great) or if you don’t need an Internet connection (as long as your router is working, this app will also work).

Is this the wildest way to create files from Linux and compute to Linux across the network?

I don’t know, and then I see that my style of writing was much faster and much less involved than setting up a network (even uploads uploads with no images that appear on the network).

Download LAN share

64-bit installers for Windows and Ubuntu are available on Github:

Teleport, NitroShare, and any other option to transfer images to the network

LAN Share is not the only software to share network images. List of applications for Windows, macOS and Linux, and Android and iOS, both for free and free.

Another open source alternative to LAN Share is NitroShare. They like to communicate on the LAN, but TSL provides some optional encryption.

For Linux-to-Linux translations, GTK GC is a wide range of teleport transfer applications. It works similarly on the LAN, but there is some optional TSL encryption.

For Linux to Linux transfers, in January a tablet GTK transfer application with large GNOME Shell integration. It can installed from Flathub.

There are several other ways to transfer tablets from one PC to another without desktop, such as: tablet, network, Samba Plus, SSH, and sFTP.

Use when necessary.
